These specially designed headphones drastically reduce the level of external sound reaching the musician's ears, offering valuable protection from potential damage.

The SIH1 reduces overall noise levels by 24 decibels and features high quality stereo headphones. Unlike non-isolation headsets, where musicians typically crank the volume to very high and potentially damaging sound levels in order to hear the music clearly, the SIH1 reduces ambient noise from the instruments. This allows the musician to play along with the recorded music or monitor other performers in a live situation at comfortable and safe sound levels. Includes 1/4" adaptor.

Comments about Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones:

I love these headphones. Use it pretty much everyday. Excellent for practicing your favorite songs on the set. Prefect sound and it cancells out pretty much all outside noise. Only complaint I have about them is if you have glasses they can hurt your ears after an hour of use. Really glad I got them, really worth the money.

Undoubtedly, these phones do the job described but nothing really outstanding and actually, I'm not completely sure if 25db are a good reference for its isolation level.

Are comfortable even after long periods of use (I used them during a 3.5hrs flight without problem, the audio quality is not the best but it's a very acceptable level for the price and my only complaint would be about the size 'cause I need to make my ear fit into the phone and maybe that's the reason why I have that feel of low isolation level.

Comments about Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones:

The sound isolation of this product is the best yet out of all the ones i've tried in years. It cancels all of the overtones and bring out a great punch to the kit. It makes it sound like recorded drums playing live. The only negative thing about it is they are really tight on your ears. For people like me who practice 1-3 hours per day will have their ears red and hurting for a while after finished with practice. Another thing is that the muffles around the rims are water proof which makes people who sweats alot will have these pairs dripping of lots of sweat after taken out. Never the less, if the ur looking for cheap and good quality isolation headphones, these are it

Comments about Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones:

I'm a skeptic when it comes to "great things" like this. But this is the real deal. Its does EXACTLY as it promises. Let me give you an idea:

you have your iPod and are sitting at the drums. You put on these headphones and put the iPod at half volume. and EVERYTHING sounds clear. of course, the cymbals are muffled, but you can hear the iPod crystal clear and you can still hear all the drums (cymbals, snare, toms, and yes, even bass drum). I've tried many headphones, even the Bose ones that are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. But this is even better than those, and will save your ears.

Comments about Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones:

I am soooo satisfied with these headphones. My old closed ear headphones broke from years of use, so I bought these to replace them. I was slightly reluctant since Vic Firth isn't really known for headphones like a Sony, Audio Technica, etc. So anyways, as soon as I got them out of the package and put them on my head, I immediately noticed the shear isolation value of these things. I could hear my own heartbeat!! It was completely unexpected. And when I went to put sound through them, I was impressed even more. Very tight low end. Very nice for hearing the Kick Drum when you are playing with tracks. And the high end doesn't distort even at ridiculously high volume. These match up side by side with studio quality headphones, in fact, I'd rather use these on my next recording session. Also, contrary to one review in this post, they don't sound anymore quiet than any other brand of closed ear headphone. And honestly, I've played a lot with headphones with music going, and I don't seem to have to turn these up so loud to compete with my own Drum Volume as in the past. My drums sound amazing too. Cymbal volume is greatly reduced due to the isolation factor. Plus The Headphones take out long overtones from cymbals and ringy toms, and really emphasizes the low end punch from your kit. When you put these on, it almost sounds like a near perfect EQ that a sound engineer would put on your drums when he records it. My Experience: 15 years of playing Drums, 6 years as a Recording Engineer, and 2 years as a professional Drum Teacher. I recommend these headphones to everyone.

Comments about Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones:

I got these not just to isolate outside sounds when listening to music but also for travelling. On the airplane they kill that annoying drone which makes them perfect for long flights.
The sound they produce is pretty good, they don't go loud because they don't have to.
They have bulletproof build and are pretty compact when you fold them down, great for slipping in a travel bag.
Compared to the noise canceling headphones these cannot be beat for build quality and sound at a great price.

This is great! It helped save my ears a bunch from uneccessary ring in my ear. The music played through the headphones is a little low, but its enough to hear it over the drums but at the same time able to hear the drums very clearly. Good for practice and recording!

Comments about Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones:

After making my ear buds pay and suffer for a very long time without any protection, finally I decided to get some headphones, mainly because I was blasting my music really loud and trying to play along, (not a good idea). After the very first time I noticed the huge difference! I could hear the music coming out of my Ipod and my drumming in the distance!

This product is light and comfortable on the ear all around.

The only negative thing for me is that the volume level is rather low.
But overall is a great product to consider if you are serious about drumming.

I use this product to cover songs on drums. The phones really make your drums sound much better. At times you cant tell whether your hearing your drums or the actual recording.
