The Vic Firth Corpsmaster line of drum sticks designed with Ralph Hardimon are intended for marching drumming but are widely used in other high-powered styles and as heavy practice sticks as well. These Ralph Hardimon "Hammer" drum sticks are a slightly scaled-down version of the hickory Corpsmaster SRH Ralph Hardimon drum sticks with a unique barrel tip and a long taper but are made of heavy birch laminate (called Sta-Pac) for added weight and sound production. Comments about Vic Firth Corpsmaster SRH2 Ralph Hardimon "Hammer" Drum Sticks:

I purchased the Vic Firth Ralph Hardimon Corpmaster Hammers as a drilling tool for practice on the Moongel pad and conventional gum rubber pad.

The sticks need to be used sparingly at first to avoid finger and hand cramps. I would recommend 10 to 15 minutes every other day to start. I elevated my practice time to 20 minutes after a couple of weeks and have built my rudimentary non-stop drilling to a half hour. I am pretty well spent after a half hour. I have seen noticeable toning in my finger and hand muscles.

The Sta-Pac laminated birch is turned with precision, rendering a superior surface finish that is smooth but not slippery. Vic Firth is truly the leader in the field.
