The Taylor 114ce Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar delivers Taylor quality at a working musician's price!

The Taylor 114ce is part of the redesigned 100 series of acoustic guitars. The Taylor 114ce Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s "X" bracing. The Taylor 114ce also features their Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 110 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. While the bigger Dreadnought was traditionally considered a flatpicker’s guitar and the smaller Grand Concert catered to fingerstylists, the Grand Auditorium was designed to deliver on both fronts. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the multi-dimensional Grand Auditorium won't let you down.

The Taylor 114ce Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor's "X" bracing. Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well. The back and sides are crafted from layered sapele which presents a beautiful aesthetic in a durable, affordable package.

The cutaway body design of the Taylor 114ce allows you to access the upper register notes for when you're reaching for a little extra in your soloing. You will love the ease and playability of the fast, thin profile of the sapele neck and 20 fret ebony fingerboard.

When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 114ce features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 114ce is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Gig Bag is included.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Awesome guitar. I am fairly new to the guitar, but played musical instruments growing up. I got this to replace my el cheapo beginner guitar. What a difference! Nice smooth fast playing neck. Like the flat look as its unique. Sound quality is great.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Almost a perfect guitar. Would like to see this offered as a 116ce as this guitar distorts a little when strummed hard. I guess the 110ce would solve that problem but it loses some of the clarity that the 110ce displays. I think the neck in the 100 series is the best of all the Taylors. Best value in an acoustic-electric.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for about 2 years. I still get excited every time I pick it up. I used it on a tour this summer and never had a single problem with it. I gig with it weekly for both church and shows and it's awesome.

Comments about Taylor 114ce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

this is a phenominal guitar. i am 16 and im certain i will have this guitar for the rest of my life. the only reason i dont give it a five is because there are better guitars out there that cost $1000 or more and yes they are better, but this guitar sound is very full. it is extremely easy to play. it is a great value. the electric imput is very nice to hav with this model. it also never goes out of tune and even when it does all the strings go out of tune with eachother so you can still play it. im not saying do that but you get my point. i am an expirienced guitar player for 16 and i would say this is the best guitar i have ever had and one of the best i will ever have.
