Comments about Tama JT147 7x14 Brass Shell John Tempesta Signature Snare Drum:

This is one of the best snares ever created. Its design is too rock, and that it does, creating a powerfull blast that takes center stage ever time you hit it. The 42 strand snare makes it sizzle giving you a highly sensitve sweet spot. If you tighten the snare wires to maximum you can't make it sound choked due to its depth. Using a sound off ring will give you a sound you always dreamed of. I suggest using a Remo Coated Emperor and a super 5B Stick. Ahead Sticks give a full attack, wood enhances the sweet spot. You wouldn't think it can be used for others styles of music but if your good at muffling you can raise and lower the pitch to find what you need. I also own a Bell Brass and that snare is a little thicker and 1/2 inch shorter and you loose the low end pitch the JT Stealth gives you. The Tempesta snare is just more open and fat making it the best snare for playing power grooves, thrash and rock. 20 years ago when I had my first cheap metal snare I always dreamed of something like this, and being a Zombie fan for 20 years, this is it. It's worth ever single dollar you spend on it. So all you kids out there that love playing like a pro save your money and buy it. Warning : Highly Addictive Snare.
