Steinberger has long been famous for designing the most comfortable and balanced basses the world has ever seen and the Synapse bass is no different
Designed by Ned Steinberger, it features the patented U-channel graphite core in a rock maple neck and maple body. Combo™ head accommodates double-ball and single-ball strings while the unique direct-drive double ball bridge adds super-fast string changes and tune-it-once tuning stability. While other guitar manufacturers have been resting on their laurels, Steinberger's been thinking.
Witness the strap hook, recessed tool holder and output jack, fold-down leg rest, and phenolic fingerboard that's slick as butter and fast as lightning. Low-impedance EMG USA bass pickup with internal low-impedance preamp and piezo bridge extends the range on both ends for earth-moving lows and phenomenal transients from slap-style playing.
And like all Steinbergers, it's super comfortable and perfectly balanced. Includes gig bag.

Comments about Steinberg Synapse XS-1FPA Bass Guitar with Gig Bag:
I have played many basses over the years with my favorite being my rick 4003 and ibanez soundgear series as I enjoy punchy tone with a low action and smooth fingerboard. I heard pros and cons about the pickups on this bass, but I love the way it sounds and tone shaping is a breeze. I also love the relative light weight of this bass and it's compactness. The only negative is that the space is really tight for messing with the tuning pegs that are partially recessed near the bridge as it is hard to turn one knob without bumping and turning another. That said, this bass rarely losses it's tuning once it is set. I plan on buying the 5 string version to accommodate a drop d tuning and reach some low c and low b notes require by some of the songs in our sets.
