The Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster gives a nod to its iconic predecessor, while adding updated features to satisfy demands of today’s players.

The Jazzmaster has spanned six decades and multiple rock & roll sub-genres and remains a highly sought after iconic instrument to this day. Squier has created a new affordable classic with the Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Electric Guitar. Retaining its legendary offset waist and contoured body design; the Vintage Modified Jazzmaster moves into the future with some simplified changes to the original specs.

The basswood body is outfitted with Custom Duncan Designed pickups that deliver tones from glassy smooth to jangly rockin’ rhythm crunch, with a vintage-tone neck pickup and higher-output bridge pickup. The maple neck features 21 medium frets on a rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5” radius for effortless, clean string bending. The new Vintage Modified Jazzmaster remains true to its tradition with the dual-circuit switching and controls and floating-vibrato bridge. Capped off with chrome vintage-style tuners, the Vintage Modified Jazzmaster retains that classic 60’s mojo. Case not included.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Electric Guitar:

I played a few of the Vintage modified Jazzmasters and Jaguars at Sam Ash and really liked how they sounded and felt. It's honestly really surprising these are as afforable as they are. I played the Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster as well and this sounded a lot better in my opinion.

I ordered the Sonic Blue option and it's honestly closer to a mix of Light Blue and Surf Green. If you look at the pictures you can see it's not exactly the right shade. I didn't really mind since I still like the color as it is.

The pickups are great. Sounds just like I wanted and I have no complaints about it. I replaced the strings and put some 11's on it. I hear a lot of people complain about strings slipping, but I don't have too much of an issue. I would like to get a buzz stop soon, however. It gets a little noisy behind the bridge.

The guitar came set up nicely and the neck was straight. The frets were fine, but over time became sharp. It's not terrible, but it's noticable. I never had this issue with a Fender Strat or Epiphone I had previously. The neck itself feels nice and comfortable.

Stays in tune fairly well. I don't use the wammy bar, so I can't really say much about it. The nut isn't great and could probably use replacing down the line, but it's not a big issue.

Overall, I'm extremely happy. I really wanted a Jazzmaster and this made it possible. No regrets.

This Guitar is awesome, and the bridge isn't that bad. It stays in tune and plays like an angel. Other then some fret buzz and some grounding issues, it is an awesome guitar

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Electric Guitar:

After setting this gem up with heavier strings, the bridge stayed in place better.....my only gripe with this axe. It is inherent of the model, not the Squier reissue. I play indie rock originals and covers. The JM has that sound that you just don't get with Strats, Teles or Gibbys. Twangy, rich and full. The rhythm circuit is cool for setting a lead tone on the fly and is great clean or with overdrive or fuzz. The neck feels terrific, no rough edge. Had to futz with the setup, but I do that anyway with all my axes. Hella buy and hella cool axe!!
