The Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass Active V (five-string) is perfect for either a burgeoning five-string player seeking active tones, or as a low-cost backup for any working musician.

An active three-band EQ lets you precisely shape your tone for extra girth, punch or cut, while the easily-accessible slap switch easily switches between modern or vintage tones. The slap switch activates the active electronics, boosting the bass and treble while slightly "scooping" the mids—this tone is ideal for funky slap-style basslines.

The comfortable "C"-shaped neck profile of this instrument (the shape of the neck in cross section) is sculpted to impart a vintage-style playing feel. The most prevalent neck profile shape, it’s remarkably comfortable and is ideal for all playing styles. This modern instrument offers a classic touch with a vintage-style five-string bridge with single-groove saddles, offering plenty of tuning stability and sustain. Case not included.

Features:
  • Maple neck with "C"-shaped profile and 20-fret ebonol fingerboard
  • Dual single-coil Jazz Bass pickups
  • Master volume, blend control, three-band active EQ with "stacked" bass/treble control knob
  • Mid-scoop "slap switch"
  • Vintage-style five-string bridge with single-groove saddles
  • Quick-release battery compartment
  • Case not included

Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V Active 5-String Bass Gutiar:

I traded in an Ibanez Ergodyne 5 string for one, and it had such a vintage yet different sound. All my band members loved it.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V Active 5-String Bass Gutiar:

At this price range who is to quibble? But the fingerboard on mine (the black finished model) is plastic, not rosewood as described in the product specs. I'm ok with this, and I'm curious to see how it holds up. I'm not crazy about the active pick-up trip but I dig this guitar and enjoy it a lot.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V Active 5-String Bass Gutiar:

I bought it as a backup bass, but the feel and sound was Better than my very expensive(2800.00+)bass!It records well too! It will need a proper professional set-up for best results. Big! Bang! for the buck! The bass is heavy! ,but solid. The tuners are bit course.(low ratio) , but at this price who cares! This bass is good enough for a Pro player. Buy Now!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V Active 5-String Bass Gutiar:

I was looking for a back up bass to take on the road. I saw and heard this bass and wow it took me away. The setup out the box needs some work and the pickups will be changed but the sound is byfar a good sound. Fender did a good job on this one. The price is so right. I got the black one but wanted it in white also (next week)
