Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar:

I have been in many bands over the years, some of them successful on a local level, taught guitar lessons privately, at a music store, through a community college system as well as through the high school I teach at, and I have never, ever, even closely played a more quality constructed, better sounding, or aesthetically pleasing guitar without shelling out well over $1000!

A guitar student showed up to his lesson one day with a blonde Squier CV 50s Telecaster and blew me away! I was playing a MIM Standard Tele at the time that had been custom modded and with many upgrades as well as cool retro, distressed treatment by a gifted custom guitar luthier. After I heard his CV 50s Tele and played its extremely playable neck, I was green with envy and burnt up that I could have bought that much guitar at THAT price.

I sold my customized MIM Tele and was going to buy the CV 50s tele, but when I went to order it I saw this little beauty, the CV Custom Tele - with hotter Alnico V pups, a rosewood fretboard, and double binding. It looked so good in the pics, I decided to go with it instead.

It arrived set up pretty well already, much better than many other guitars I have purchased over the years and paid much more. With just a few minor saddle and pickup mount adjustments, I had it dialed in perfectly. While making the pickup adjustments, I removed the pick guard and was floored by what I saw. Even under the pick guard the finish was flawless and beautiful. So much so, I contemplated finding a way to mod it so I could leave the pick guard off because it looked SOOOO SEXY!

Once it was properly set up, the real fun began. This thing plays like a dream! The CV necks are quite different from a standard neck (USA, Mex, or China) or the other popular Squier Vintage Modified series, they are a bit smaller and a bit more rounded in the profile. Its not a true replica neck of the time period specific, but a custom neck created by Squier specifically for these CV guitars. If you are a diehard standard Tele or Strat neck lover, this neck is not for you. But if you have shorter fingers, or thicker hands like I do, this neck is incredible! Add to it the perfect glossy finish and beautiful vintage tinting and you have one incredible neck. I even hit the jackpot and my was shipped with a moderately flamed maple neck!

Other than the gorgeous looks and incredible neck, the other stellar feature is the TONE. Over the years I have owned and played many teles, made by Fender, Squier, and others, and I would put the tone of this little beast up against any of them. I did a lot of recording with this guitar through my Macbook Pro using Garageband and the tone of the tracks I laid down with the CV Tele Custom are some of the best sounding blues, classic rock, blues rock, and country tracks I have ever laid down in my career. This baby sounded so good recorded, I ordered a CV Strat to go with it and played the CV Strat in one channel and this Tele in the other - it was pure ear candy!!! The Strats are just as sweet as the Teles if you are looking at those too!

If you have even remotely considered buying this guitar, please do yourself a favor and get one before they are all gone. People will be talking about this one years from now when they are out of production. The only thing negative in any way about this guitar is that it is not an American Tele, but when you are playing it, with its great tone and smooth feel, you won't care.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar:

One you get the guitar set up correctly, the this is a dream to play. Not mentioning any names, but it sounds like the person who did the negative review either got a bad guitar or he / she needs to just get a good setup. I'll put this thing up against my American Std. Strat any day.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar:

I have had this telecaster for about six months now and have found that it's truly a joy to play. It was set up properly with low action, good intonation and no buzzes right from the box. The tone is that signature tele tone that we all know and love. I play it through a Fender tube guitar amp and it sounds just awesome. The finish is beautiful enough that you just want to sit back and look at it when you're not playing it - it looks that great!

I'm thankful to the Fender/Squier company for offering a Telecaster that I have been wishing to buy for quite some time at such an affordable price. Also kudos go to Sam Ash for having the guitar available when I couldn't find it elsewhere.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar:

Guys, if you don't know this guitar, you've got to play one. Do not let the name fool you. I could'nt beleive how well this guitar was put together, no set up needed. The only thing i would change are the strings. I play gibson les pauls and was wanting to also have a tele sound, a friend told me about the new classic vibe squire, and to my amazment, I was blown away. One word, solid. I think fender will now have a run for there money. If you don't have much money and really want a great guitar, this is it! But don't wait, as soon as they know what they have, I bet that price jumps up.
