Hot Rails™ are one of the highest output pickups Seymour Duncan makes. It's a humbucker that fits into a normal single coil slot, so you get the noise canceling effect without cutting a large hole in your guitar. The two thin blades with powerful coil windings give you the incredible sustain and a fat, full sound that's needed for playing heavier rock music. This pickup responds to the subtlest finger movements. Available in black or white.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SHR1 Hot Rails Electric Guitar Pickup:

I wanted a fat humbucker tone to my single coil strat to add some versatility to my favorite guitar. no HOT single coil can match this pick-up. It is a humbucker, only in a single coil space. Of all the imitators this is the only choice to make because it is truly what you need to drive your sound to the next plateau. Single coil lovers don't bother with it. But if you want no fuss putting this in your axe in a single coil space buy this. It is harmonically rich and tonefull. Sustain is impressive through a "real amp" not a beginner rig. Thats where the difference lies.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SHR1 Hot Rails Electric Guitar Pickup:

This is a HOT pickup for certain. A bit too hot perhapes. Unimpressed with my 62 Vintage Hot Rod Strat'(Tobacco Burst)output; I installed one of these in the bridge position. Next string change I will be changing it back to the original pup. I made the mistake thinking that this would somehow improve sustain. It has but along with it the a loss of balance. Gone is the glistening tone and unmistakable character of a vintage strat. It now sounds like a cheap Jackson or Charvel or other Gibson wanna-be. When I want to shred like no tomorrow I will grab my SG or VOS 58 Lester. If you are limited to one guitar and feel deprived of over-whelming crunch tones, need more punch then this is a great choice. If you are playing a Squire or MIM strat, limited to that one guitar and like shred metale. I would install one of these in all 3 positions. If you want to start with one in the bridge position let me know. I have a used one if your interested. A high output pup and no nonsense increase in gain and bomb output. Easy to install.
