Designed primarily for guitarists, the e609 is a perfect choice for up close miking an amps' face or a blaring horn section that would otherwise shred other dynamic mics. The 609's dynamic design easily tackles whatever ear-bleeding SPL you can throw at it while, the Super-cardioid pickup pattern and advanced, shock-mount design provides isolation from other onstage signals.

The lightweight voice coil construction and rigid dome diaphragm provide both extended high frequency performance and a hard wearing capsule assembly. Also suitable for drum miking, particularly toms, where the microphone's profile allows the capsule to be positioned close to the drum skin.

  • Supercardioid Dymanic
  • Frequency response: 40Hz-18,000kHz
  • Hum compensating coil

Comments about Sennheiser e 609 Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone:

Hard to find a more versatile mic for general loud volume recordings. I've tried the E609 on toms, guitar amps, even vocals (as an experiment). It had a well-rounded, clean sound and took plenty of punishment before getting close to clipping. A great value for the money

Comments about Sennheiser e 609 Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone:

I used this mike to run to the PA from my amp. I played an acoustic thru a vintage Vox.It works perfect, no distortion or shading of sound. Full bass response,no clipping. I got an acoustic amp so our lead player uses it now. He loves it.

These are excellent mic's for toms, You can find micing info for drums that suggest 409's as great tom mic's, this is the new version. They take alittle eq-ing but once your there your there!

Comments about Sennheiser e 609 Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone:

I use this microphone for recording and live applications . I use a SM57 along with this MIC it has a nice deep tone to it. It is made for close miking with a cabinet and it's also built well.
