The MEINL Cajons are completely hand made from start to finish. They work perfectly for Flamenco or World Music and deliver an extremely wide range of sounds, reaching from loud, deep bass tones up to cutting overtones with an abundance of projection and enforcement. Both percussionists and drummers appreciate the Cajon for its diversity of sound. They also work perfectly during unplugged gigs or sessions.

Once again, MEINL proves its leading position in developing innovative instruments in today's percussion world:  The CAJ3 Cajon combines features such as adjustable snare wires, which up to now have never been utilized in any other Cajon. Also, the top corners of the front plate can be adjusted, allowing the player to customize the amount of snap desired. Frontplate: Makah-Burl Wood. Resonating body: Rubber Wood (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.) Padded sitting surface.

Comments about Meinl Makah-Burl Professional Cajon:

This is a fantastic instrument. My friends and I started an acoustic trio. We wanted the ability to be able to play large stages and the smallest coffee shops. I already had the drumset for stage, but it was too much for some smaller venues. Even with a small kick and tight setup. So I went and tried out several cajons, about 10 all together. This one by far sounded the best. It took very little refining as far as the snare is concerned. It has been an amazing conversation piece. I have played live and recorded with it.

Comments about Meinl Makah-Burl Professional Cajon:

I bought this because I am tired of hauling my drum kit everywhere and trying to fit it into these tiny little spaces.I had never played one until the day I bought it and It didn't take much time for me to figure it out.I tried all the cajons in the store and all the ones at several other stores and the Meinl by far was the best sounding and best constructed.I do recomend buying the bag as these will dent easily if you just toss them into the car like some of do with our drums. Also, you might want to find someone that actually knows how to play it before you start messing with the adjustments on the rattles.
