Topped with a solid, raw bell, this versatile model delivers strong, dry stick articulation with a touch of tone at every volume. AA cymbals combine musicality and energy for sounds that are bright, bold and explosive. Reinforced with the power and strength of multi-rolled, secret-process bronze shaped under 75 tons of hydraulic pressure, AA delivers with inner strength and outer energy. Cool for retro, right for now, these highly durable cymbals move a lot of air in any kind of music. From the Latin flavor of El Sabor to models that rock, swing, and groove, AA is extremely versatile.

Comments about Sabian AA 21" Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

I'm a sucker for Ride cymbals just ask my local Sam Ash Dealer. What caught my eye on this one was the black bell.So I decided to sit down and give it a spin.Wow!this Ride covers everything! The bow ,bell & the looks.I tried practicing all apps. and it really showed up for the challenge. So as I blazed through Rock,Metal & Big Swing practice it added it's own fire to the flame. This ride is one of a kind; and I mean by that is that it can adapted to any situation. 5 stars for me.

Comments about Sabian AA 21" Raw Bell Dry Ride Cymbal:

The Sabian 21" AA Raw Bell Dry Ride is a medium-heavy weight, allowing for a nice controlled wash that dosen't overpower the ride when playing, but creates just enough sustain to give the area around the drums a nice, warm foundation. Although it is a natural finish, the ping is bright and clear, but can also be made a little darker with wood sticks. The stick definition is great, allowing you to hear every hit you make, while only allowing a minor buildup of wash.

The bell is easily the best bell I have heard. Because of its raw surface, the bell is incredibly loud and piercing, with a somewhat bright tone. Striking the bell generates a small response from the rest of the cymbal, and the bell's low profile makes finding the "sweet spot" very easy.

Since this ride will undoubtedly be compared to the Sabian 21" HH Raw Bell Dry Ride, I have made these observations while comparing the side by side, from behind a kit, and in front of one.The AA is more geared toward rock. The HH more for jazz, fusion, and quieter music. While the AA Raw Bell Dry Ride cuts through the music, the HH blends right in. Although the ping is about the same, the HH is a little more shimmering and has alot more buildup of wash. When I tried out the HH Raw Bell Dry Ride, I played it behind a drumset, and it was somewhat audible, but when I stood further back and let someone else play it with the drums, all I could hear was the wash and a little bit of the bell. The ping on the AA Raw Bell Dry Ride had no problems cutting through, the wash was just enough to engulf the set in a warm tone, but didn't stick out on its own, and the bell just shot right through anything.

In short, the AA Raw Bell Dry Ride is cutting, precise, and controlled. The HH Raw Bell Dry Ride Blends in more, and is significantly more washy than the AA model. I would recommend the AA Raw Bell Dry Ride to anyone, since it's versatility covers such a wide range, and depending on where you strike it and what sticks you use, the sound options are fully customizable.
