The S Series Firebird Zero from Gibson blends affordability with all the quality, tone and playability you've come to expect from Gibson USA. Made in the USA, the Firebird Zero features a unique, lightweight, ergonomic solid poplar body that offers exceptional player comfort. Just as you'd expect from a Gibson, the S Series Firebird Zero comes dressed in a light gloss genuine nitro finish that allows the wood to breathe for superb resonance. The glued-in, fast maple neck is carved into Gibson's signature SlimTaper profile and wears a smooth satin nitro finish while the solid rosewood fretboard offers a great playing feel and incredible sustain.

Equipped with a pair of USA-made Gibson Double Slug DS-C humbuckers, the S Series Firebird Zero dishes out that legendary Gibson sound with a little extra kick thanks to the double slug design. For easy tone shaping, the Firebird Zero features a no-nonsense 2-knob control layout with 3-way switching.

Other features include a set of lightweight, reliable chrome mini-button tuners, an adjustable wrap-around bridge for accurate intonation and unparalleled sustain, and a dense, self-lubricated Tektoid nut. Includes S Series padded gig bag.

Gibson Firebird Zero

This guitar was purchased for my grandson as a starter guitar. The guitar is light weight and sounds good through a small Fender amp. The guitar was ordered in the Gold Mist finish. Gibson was way off on their color chart. The guitar is actually a light olive green. Nothing resembling gold or tan. I read about other owners complaining about the bridge slanting in the post mounts. Gibson must have listened to the concerns and had the bridge machined to fit correctly in the posts, for mine is a tight fit and doesn't slant. I like that the intonation can be set individually, plus there are set screws on the back of the bridge for further adjustments. The guitar is light weight and would be great for a beginning student. The volume pot has to be turned a few numbers before there is a noticeable increase in volume. The tone pot works well with no complaints. The three way switch has static when switching from bridge, to middle and neck pick up. I can deal with the switch and volume pot, but the green has got to go. Nothing near the photo Gibson has posted on line. I would recommend this for a student, but get a color that is accurate like blue, black or red.

A USA Gibson for under $500? Yes please! This is a sweet guitar that screams rock and roll and is very affordable. If you would rather buy an instrument made in the USA, but couldn't afford the price tag, this instrument has made it rather attainable. The slim neck is very comfortable and the poplar body is resonant. The pickups sound solid and the included gig bag make for an amazing value.

This is the newest Firebird design from Gibson. It is great for the price. New humbuckers and ready to rock, nice and light too.

I could not believe the price on this American made Gibson guitar. You can't even buy a used firebird at that price, and this thing was born to rock. The pickups are hot, and it's really light weight and maneuverable. I also really like the color. If you're considering an epiphone, you should definitely pick this guy up and give him a try.
