The Remo POWERSONIC® Bass Drumheads are Constructed of 2 ply 7 mil MYLAR® with two specifically placed internal subsonic dampening rings with ESDS technology External Snap-on Dampening System. The two mounted ¾” internal dampening rings enhance low end without fixating trays or hard backed dampening materials to the drumhead. It gives the drummer controlled mid range and low end for the most powerful bass drum sound that’s “IT”, right out of the box!

The unique patent pending ESDS system employs snaps mounted directly to the drumhead to eliminate the possibility of vibration. This allows you to easily customize your muffling, feel and sustain for different playing situations by “snapping” the strategically placed weighted pillow to the drumhead. Also included is the FALAM® SLAM for added attack and durability.

Comments about Remo 22" Clear Powersonic Bass Drum Head:

I just bought this today, and I must say it's awesome. I was skeptical about the foam rings and the ESDS dampening system, but let me tell you it works great. Without the ESDS dampening pad, it has that big, boomy sound which is good for unmic'd live venues. If you snap on the the ESDS dampening pad, it tightens up the sound, and completely eliminates the need for a pillow or any internal dampening. When you put a pillow inside a bass drum with a normal drum head, it eliminates the boom and echo, but also kills the tone, and makes the drum much quieter and nowhere near as deep sounding as the pillow takes up some of the internal space of the drum, making it sound smaller. With the ESDS pad snapped on the exterior, it doesn't take up any of the internal space of the drum, and thus lets the drum sound huge and very deep while remaining tight. I finally have that deep, thick bass thump that I've been looking for. I have found my perfect bass drum head, and I'm never looking back.

Comments about Remo 22" Clear Powersonic Bass Drum Head:

This is a great head. Well worth the price. I've been using it at church and it sounds great being shielded and mic'd through the house mix in a 3000 seat sanctuary. It's very durable, tuning in one shot lasts for awhile. I have used the emad 2 and resonant on my personal kit and the powersonic has a better thump than the emad. If you want some deep boom the emad is good but this feels better and has better muffling than the emad. Not a lot of overtones. I highly recommend this head.
