Comments about Tascam DR-40 Handheld 4-Track Recorder:

I just put this thing in the middle of the room, without really taking anything into account, to record our practice and was really surprised by what we got out of it. The condenser mics on this thing picked up every little nuance from every instrument. I just imported the files to USB on my PC and there it was! easy to use with great results. This is a real hands on product review from Bryan at Sam Ash Dallas.

Comments about Tascam DR-40 Handheld 4-Track Recorder:

The Tascam DR-40 is very portable but offers a great sound. With the built in XY and AB mic the pickups patterns will work for almost any job. The inputs provide you access to use your own mics for an even better experience. Can handle up to a 32 GB card so keep many of them close because this will be a recorder you use often. This is a real hands-on product review from David @ Sam Ash Ontario.

Comments about Tascam DR-40 Handheld 4-Track Recorder:

This very powerful, very clean sounding 4 track recorder easily packs into a gig bag, pedal board pocket or pants pocket to allow you to quickly rough out song ideas on the road or to be thrown up in the band practice room to record practice and really see how off time your drummer was that night!

They make great dictation recorders for students in classrooms or business professionals wanting to record thoughts in high clarity.

Comments about Tascam DR-40 Handheld 4-Track Recorder:

There are so many ways I use this little guy, where do I begin? Whether I'm capturing a live performance, or a full band rehearsal, the built in compressors make sure I"m getting good sound no matter the volume. I can record a bandmate's idea to a click, play guitar on it later, and literally mix a rough demo of a new song. I can record my rhythm guitar player playing the chords of a song, and play it back infinitely while I work out the solo. The list goes on and on. If you're a musician, youi need this!

Comments about Tascam DR-40 Handheld 4-Track Recorder:

So after I don't even know how many albums.....The business of being a musician seems to be paying a bit less these days and quality production costs are still high. I borrowed one of these from a friend to do some pre-pro for my wife's new album. I was so impressed by the sound quality I decided to take it to one of my own rehearsals just to see how it would do. (I play in a very loud, aggressive, heavy, band) The sound was still amazing!!! This thing is perfect for recording a rehearsal or general pre-production. Studio time costs money. I'm not saying this recorder will make you sound like you recorded at abbey road, but you can always hear everything clearly in the room. The built in mics are impressive, but you can also use your own external mics with this also. It is set up for both 1/4 inch and XLR inputs. ...It even has phantom power abilities! How cool is that?!!!!!

Versatile and pocket sized, the DR40 can go anywhere and record easily with excellent sound quality. DJ's, record your set. Bands, record your rehearsal or shows. Songwriters, don't lose that idea that came to you in the middle of the night. You can choose between the adjustable built-in mics or plug in your own condenser. On board phantom power, reverb and limiting, it's like carrying around a recording studio in your pocket. This is a real hands on product review by EpR@ Sam Ash Ontario.
