The Yamaha NP12 is the upgraded version of the previous NP11. This time, there is iOS compatibility with a separately sold cable to record ideas. Also, the speakers have improved for even better sound in such a small form factor. If you are looking for a practice keyboard without distractions of bells and whistles, and just want a few really good sounds, this is the unit for you. The keys are responsive and the sounds are good. Great as a practice piece.

Great sounding, great playing keyboard at a killer price. 61 keys so its compact and portable. Great for beginners or small gigs. Sound quality is great. Yamaha is known for having the best piano sounds on their digital pianos. USB output lets you plug into your computer so you can access most programs or learning software. Great investment.

        Great Improvement

        By

This past winter Namm Yamaha announced that they were updating their Piaggero series and we got quite the upgrade. Biggest improvements was the amount of sounds you are able to get and sound quality that comes out of the built in speakers. This keyboard is very easy to use and definitely goes with quality over quantity. Not to many bells and whistles, just good piano sounds.

This is one of the most popular portable keyboards for the beginner student. Although it has some effects its mainstay is a straight out keyboard for sharpening up your chops.
