Comments about Paiste PST5 Series 14" Medium Hi Hat Cymbals:

Well, I've been playing drums a long time, and I've tried hundreds of different Hi Hats. This is only the second pair of Paiste ones I've ever owned and they sound pretty nice. Comparing them to the rest of the ones it the store, they were actually some of the nicest sounding ones in there. Compared to the Sabian B8 Pros, that are actually the same alloy and price range, these sound much better. They're a lot lighter and actually have some lathing to them. This is better for me because I don't always play loud. These just seem more dynamic compared to other B8 Hats. They have a decent range of pitches as well depending on foot pressure, and splash nicely. One thing to note when I got them home, at first they didn't sound quite as good as I remembered, but loosened the clutch felts on the top hat and they sounded good again. It's weird, it seems very easy to choke them if you tighten the felts too much or something. So keep that in mind, let the top had have some give and it makes a huge difference. We'll see how they are when I start performing out with them, but I have a good feeling about them.
