The PAISTE 2002 Series 24” Crash Cymbal is the crash cymbal to go to when you need to make a loud and huge statement!

One of the legendary line of cymbals that defined the sound of generations of drummers since the early days of Rock and re-created to give you the definitive classic rock crash sound, the PAISTE 2002 Series 24” Crash Cymbal is a very large and dramatic crash cymbal that is also a versatile, all-purpose cymbal with crash ride capability. It is bright and warm, full and loud, shimmering and has very responsive feel.

The 2002 Series is the original line of 2002 crash cymbals, sometimes called the “standard” series and are one weight class lighter than the Medium crashes and heavier than the Thin crashes.

During the 1960's developing Beat and Rock music required cymbal sounds to match the new frequencies and volume levels and in 1967 the Giant Beat series was created and then the 2002 series was developed in 1971, fusing the power of the Giant Beat with the differentiation of the Jazz series Formula 602. In the 2000s, Paiste once again makes the 2002 a core series for now and for the future.

The legendary cymbals that defined the sound of generations of drummers since the early days of Rock, the present 2002 is built on the foundation of the original classic cymbals and is expanded by modern sounds for today’s progressive popular music.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Series 24 Crash Cymbal:

I was worried at first that this crash was going to be too much when I got it. But from the first hit, it has worked for every style gig I've taken it on. Rock, blues, country, even playing at church, this crash does it all. Even drop it down low and play it like a ride, you'll get a beautiful washy sound that never gets too out of control. John Bonham, Alex Van Halen, Abe Laboriel Jr. Your name could be next on the list!
