Comments about AKG P420 Multi-Pattern Large Diaphragm True Condenser Microphone:

There really isn't much this mic can't do. Acoustic guitars, electrics, drums, vocals, piano, brass and woodwinds, it can handle it all and sound good while doing it. The 3 polar patterns (omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure 8) allow you to really dial in the sound you need for your recording. The low frequency rolloff switch is also nice for voices or instruments that have a lot of thick bass coming through to even up the tone and make mixing easier. The included shockmount does a great job and the aluminum case is attractive and protects the mic very well for storage or traveling.

Comments about AKG P420 Multi-Pattern Large Diaphragm True Condenser Microphone:

A pro sound really lies in the mix, but a great mic can certainly help achieve the desired results more easily. This lovely piece is very versatile and I have yet to find a voice that this mic hasn't been suited to. AKG has proven themselves to take frequency resonse in a neutral sense, and this mic shows that neutrality in the best way possible. It's rather difficult to sound bad, and the results that show up in the DAW inspire confidence.

Comments about AKG P420 Multi-Pattern Large Diaphragm True Condenser Microphone:

The AKG P420 is a great condenser microphone for anyone looking to start recording. Very nice, warm sound with a bass filter switch and high SPL decibel switch which allows for a variety of tonal choices. The P420 also gives you a polar pattern switch for different miking options. Sturdy construction. It comes with the shock mount and hard shell case which is a great bonus.
