Over the past 15 years, I've owned a half-dozen different multiFX units for use with my acoustic-electric guitars.
I've found the Zoom units to be the best in terms of quality and value. They are solidly built and provide excellent sound quality--no distortion.
The best feature in this is the ability to set up EQ as six-band instead of the 3-band EQ offered on most multi-FX pedals. This really is great to EQ out that annoying "quack" piezos are noted for.
Another great feature is that this can be either battery powered or AC powered. I prefer battery power because the AC power units offered with these is usually a wall wart with a short (6' or less) piece of spaghetti wire which simply clutters up the stage with more wires and become detached or broken very easily.
There are three drawbacks I've noticed. The first is that the output is stereo 1/4". I would much prefer that the outputs be dual L/R 1/4" or, better still, dual L/R XLR so this could function as a DI box also.
The second drawback is that the reverse delay effect is in the modulation bank of effects instead of in the reverb/delay bank. This means if I want to develop some 60s Beatlesque mojo using reverse delay and flanging or phasing, I am going to have to purchase an outboard delay or echo pedal with reverse. Since this is a firmware issue and not a hardware issue, Zoom should rewrite the programming for this. Which leads to the third drawback--
No USB connection. Other MultiFX makers are including USB ports as standard in all models--this speeds up the process of upgrading firmware as needed.
Still,, all things considered, I would recommend this over any other acoustically voiced multi-FX pedal on the market, unless one wants to pay a little more for the A2.1u

I've had many zoom products over the years and they have continued to get better. I haved owned the G2 for electric guitar for a while and used it a lot to record, and I'm very happy with it. Recently I have been looking for a good pedal to use for my acoustic shows. Since I like the Zoom G2 I decided to give the A2 a try. WoW...I'm glad I did. After just a couple minutes of tweaking my guitar sound was more full and clean than ever before. I have been struggling to find a good acoustic pedal, and now I'm done looking. This is a great peice of gear! For [$] bucks you can't go wrong.

This one great piece of equipment! The effect are awesome and surely enhance your playing style. I have been playing acoustic guitar on and off for about 25 years, I do not play in a band but do play with friends and family on some legendary saturday nights and they all want one of these babys.
