Zildjian K Constantinople 19" Crash Ride Cymbal
Thought by many to be the most beautiful crashes in the ZILDJIAN line of cast cymbals are now even better. The objective as they were being developed in the Zildjian Sound Lab was to take the current models and evolve them closer to old sounding K’s of the 60s which required a new way to manufacture them. A new hammering technique has been incorporated which allows the crashes to open up with more dark overtones and nuances than before. A new ‘pin’ lathe has been added to the top and bottom which serves as an additional tonal groove which adds to the complexity of the sound. The new pin lathe also adds a new visual element which is very reminiscent of K’s made in the 60s. Additionally, a new vintage style cup has been incorporated into the 16” crash.
And ZILDJIAN is now rounding their line of line of K Constantinople crashes with three new additional sizes, all incorporating a new sound and appearance. These new instruments have a new hammering technique, an additional pin lathe added to the top and bottom and a new vintage style cup (on the 15” and 17” models). The combination of these new features allows the cymbal to maintain the dark expressive quality that drummers the world over have come to covet only with more overtones and nuances not heard before. The new pin lathe feature also makes the cymbals appear very similar to old K’s that are widely sought after. The new 15” and 17” sizes compliment the current 16” and 18” crashes which will also have the new features.
ZILDJIAN also added a 19” K Constantinople Crash Ride making it ideal as a left side alternative ride or as a second ride cymbal that’s also a fantastic, big sounding crash. . Again, this has the new features found
in the crashes (new hammering techniques and pin lathe) but with the additional performance capabilities.
The 15” through 18” crashes are thin in weight while the 19” crash/ride is medium/thin in weight.
