Brought to you by the company that builds the most toured professional mixers in the industry, the Yamaha MG10/2c Mixing Console takes it’s pedigree from those incredible mixing consoles and scales it down to a portable, powerful mixing solution. The Yamaha MG10/2c is a lightweight, portable professional mixer with some surprising features for a unit of this size and affordability. It has 4 Neutrik XLR microphone connectors and six ¼” line inputs. Four high performance microphone preamps, which take their heritage from those huge, larger format Yamaha mixers are here and boast some nice features. Channels 1 and 2 feature a built-in, single knob compressor. You don’t need an audio engineering degree to operate these signal tamers. Just dial in the desired amount of compression and you’re done! Each of the 4 microphone channels has a 3-band EQ (channels 7-10 feature a 2-band EQ) to help carve out the perfect frequency, and a peak light indicator tells you when you’re overloading the channel causing possible distortion. There’s switchable phantom power onboard enabling you to use your valuable condenser mics. One switch turns on phantom power for all 4 mic pres. A stereo send and return lets you hook up your favorite effects processer and AUX returns on every channel let you dial in to taste just the perfect amount of effect per channel. Channels 7-10 feature RCA connectors as well as ¼” L/R inputs, making it easy to hook up your synths, MP3 player, and/or anything that sends a stereo output. A handy 2-track input enables you to hook up your iPod or MP3 player and dial in just the exact amount of signal desired. It’s separate from the main mixing channels so they remain free for your mics and instruments. A bright, multi-segment LED meter lets you know where your level is and allows for easy control, all at a glance. Just above the Yamaha MG10/2c’s master controls are the main stereo output connectors, phone-jack monitor output connectors, pin-jack recording outputs, and a stereo headphone jack. A dedicated monitor/phones knob controls the output level to your headphones or monitor.
