Yamaha CW118V 18" Subwoofer
Club V loudspeakers with the C prefix are coated with a heavy-duty elastomeric spray coating. Designed as an installation alternative to the carpeted S versions, they can easily fit any need. The finish is very tough, and readily paintable to match surroundings. The steel grilles are foam-lined with acoustically transparent material to provide a more subdued appearance.

These subs sound really good at low volumes. At about 500 watts they start to lose their power. I would say they about average in sound but they are tough and never give up. I had two Peaveys that were rated at 500 watts program and at about 600 watts they blew. They are not tough at all. These speakers were playing at 800 watts and sounded just slightly below average. They are really tough and can handle anything. If you can afford JBL's go with those. But a cheaper alternative is Yamaha.

Comments about Yamaha CW118V 18" Subwoofer:
I'm a mobile DJ and I needed a cheap subwoofer. The Yamaha's appeared to look good but they souded very bad. At 400 watts they started to sound weird. I was at a large hall so I needed some more bass. At 500 the woofer blew. I was so mad. Don't buy these.
