It’s been 30 years since Yamaha first introduced their famous CP piano series. The Yamaha CP300 is the culmination of decades of piano building expertise, be it acoustic or electric. Here we have the very best of both!

The Yamaha CP300 has 88 graded-hammer keys that have the weighted feel of a true full-sized grand piano. The keys are touch-sensitive so you can pound out a full-bore rock and roll tune or gently tickle the ivories for a sensitive, dynamic performance. Yamaha’s state of the art AWM tone generation system provides a plethora of on-board sounds. There are 50 original voices developed specifically for the CP300 as well as an additional 480 XG voices and 12 drum-kits. The acoustic piano sounds have been precisely captured from the finest acoustic instruments available providing the best-recorded piano sounds possible. With a maximum polyphony of a whopping 128 notes, you’ll have the freedom to play and arrange to your ear’s content.

A 5 band Master EQ section with dedicated sliders sits on top of the CP300’s control panel, making it extremely friendly when a tweak here or there is needed to shape your tone. You can further enhance the sound of things with the onboard effects. There’s Reverb, Chorus, Delays, Rotary speaker emulation and Auto Wah.

Deep MIDI functionality allows you to use the Yamaha CP300 as a top-shelf controller in your studio’s DAW setup. The sliders, pitch bend and modulation wheel controls can be assigned to manipulate different features within your DAW. With 4 zones mapped out across the 88 keys, you’ll be able to layer and split sounds creating deep, sonic soundscapes that can go as far as your imagination allows.

The Yamaha CP300 is also a songwriters delight! The built-in 16-track sequencer can handle an astonishing 140,000 notes, up to 1.4 MB. You can truly put some beautiful, fully fleshed-out musical works together right there inside the CP300.

A built-in stereo speaker system lets you hear the sound of the CP300 without the need for a separate monitor. Send out a pair of L/R cables from the back panel to the venue’s PA system and monitor yourself onstage simultaneously. You can turn off the built-in speakers at the touch of a button. A headphone jack is also provided for personal listening.

Around the back panel are connecters for Line Out (Stereo XLR and ¼” L/R as well as the phones jack), USB to host, and a ¼” L/R input for MP3 players or similar playback devices). You can connect an assignable footswitch (Sustain/Sostenute/Soft/Aux) to further enhance the realism of your playing experience. MIDI in/out/thru round out the connectivity making the Yamaha CP300 a pianist’s dream board for live on-stage performance as well as in the trenches of the recording studio. Pianists take note!
