"When I first saw this snare I was like whoa, ultracast AND free floating, could you get a better drum? I've done 3 gigs with this snare it is so loud you can feel it up your stick when you strike it! It's got a solid deep tone (from the 6.5"" depth), and when tuned high like I do it really has a sharp bright sound with amazing crack. I'd imagine it being free floating makes it louder and more resonant, although it is a thick drum so it's sound is focussed. Folks this drum is specified as 3mm thick but it actually bevels out half an inch from the top and bottom, and the bearing edges are actually 5mm thick (I measured with a ruler). The drums blurb does describe it best really, it has some warmth of wood but the attack is very sharp and metallic; definitely the best for rock music. A majestic drum, buy it! --Ben"
