I have wanted one of theese babys for years. Finally had the nerve and $ to buy it. It's about three weeks old now and It's my new baby!! Fast neck low tone that thumps when you want it to. Looks SEXY as hell!! All the chicks at the shows love it.All I need is the Sans amp and me and the brain will take over the world!!

First off, this bass looks better in person than in the picture here. Prior to buying this bass, I tried many others in the store and they seemed okay. But then I tried the T-Bird and fell in love. It has a great tone and the neck is easy play. So I bought it. One month later, I traded it in. Be warned all you smaller bass players out there. This bass is heavy. In the end, it was the neck dive that I found irritating. I ended up buying an Epiphone Les Paul Special. It's lighter and is very well balanced (no neck dive). My advice to any beginner is to spend several hours in the store and try them all before making a decision.

I bought this bass as a backup to my '82 Ibanez Roadstar II. Out of the box, the intonation was perfect and it has a smooth, playable neck. It is much heavier than my Ibanez and has a larger and longer neck that will take getting used to. The neck reminds me of a J-bass neck. My first ever bass was a P-bass in 1975. This Thunderbird is just as heavy if not more so than that was. The bass has great low tone when playing through my GK MB115, and great highs as well. My major problems with it are the unbalanced feel that can probably be fixed by different strap placement, which may void the warranty. Also, the beast has very little sustain - I will need to add an EQ or compressor/enhancer to get the sustain I want - experimentation time, it seems. Maybe I should just get the sound man to stop drowning out my bass with the kick drum in the mains..... I would not recommend this bass, but my preference is Ibanez, anyway.

Really, this bass just works. I personally found the sound to have something that Fender doesn't: Depth. I've used this bass at a few shows, and some jazz gigs. It's a nice thing to have in your arsenal. The flaws of it are the neck dive, which is pretty severe depending on where you wear your strap. Overall, good feel, sound, and good quality.

I bought one of these a few years ago. It was heavy as hell, but I really just bought it because I wanted a Thunderbird. Save your money. This bass is hard to play and very uncomfortable. Buy a Mexican Fender or something like that instead.

This is a great bass. I have owned basses that were three times as much and I didn't like them as much as this T-Bird!

I had bought this bass a while back in the black sunburst and ever since day one, it does NOT disappoint. I play things like: Mogwai to Joy Division to RadioHead and even Lamb of God. Set the adjustable bridge and play slap like Primus with no problem (may want to change the strings for that though).The neck is very fast, thin and comfortable although it is a bit neck heavy and likes to dip every once in a while. The pick-ups are top notch, crystal clear soap bars that are perfect for resting the thumb on. The volume and tone nobs are pretty cool seeing how I haven't had a problem with them coming lose or anything. The tones and window shattering bottom that comes from this thing is unreal playing (personally) through an Ampeg BA115. I don't know why this bass is priced soo low. Do yourself a favor and ATLEAST play if not buy this beautiful instrument.

this bass is amazing. this is my second bass, i also own a kramer striker from '86 but the Tbird blows it out of the water. the tone is perfect, the shape fits me perfect, and it rocks. definitely buy it!!!

I have had a real Tbird IV, a Japanese Elite Tbird, and one of these. This is a TBird in name only. Because of the wood, and the fact it's a bolt on, it doesn't sound or feel like a Tbird. Well constructed, and you can't beat the price. But it is what it is, a maple and basswood bolt on, like a Squier.But if you want the real deal, save your pennies and buy an Epiphone Elite for about [$], if you can find one. It's the real deal, an all-mahogany set-neck( IMHO, mahogany is one of my favorite tone woods),and actually made a little better than the Tbird IV. The Elite has reverse Gotoh tuners , and these alone are worth the price of admission cause they stay in tune way better than the ridiculous tuners on the Tbird IV.

This bass was my first real one(Cuz my Dad had all the cool ones), And, I've dropped it, Hit it against a wall, and so many others. It still delivers the classic T-Bird tone, and craftsmanship, for a very reasonable price. If you want it, buy it.
