The Telefunken Elektroakustik U-47 Tube Microphone is a recreation of the historically world-renowned Neumann U 47. Originally developed in 1946 it has been the #1 choice of audio professionals the world over for generations. The Telefunken U47 features a newly manufactured M7 capsule (much like Neumann’s famous M7 capsule developed in 1928) and achieves its tube warmth from a new VF-14K tube (much like the original Neumann VF-14). It’s all housed in a matte nickel finished body with a large chrome head grille (much like the original U47). The Telefunken Elektroakustik U47 features 2 polar patterns, Cardioid and Omni. It can handle high SPL of 138 dB and exhibits a smooth, warm elegant sound. It’s an amazing choice for lead vocals as it exhibits a strong midrange and extended low-end which is also a great choice for instrument miking including guitars, ensembles, drums and more. Our products are split into four levels: Vintage, Platinum, Professional, and R-F-T. The R-F-T series of microphones, which include the AK47 and the M16 MkII, have a five year warranty. The Professional level of microphones, which includes the Ela M 251/250F, Ela M 12F, RM-5C, and the Ela M 260, offer a one year warranty. The Platinum level of microphones, which includes the Ela M 251/251E, the Ela M 12, the Ela M 270, the "CineMike," and the U 47 M, come with a five year warranty. The Vintage series microphones, which includes the Ela M 251V, the Ela M251VAC, the Ela M 12V, and the U 47 M with the VF-14 tube, also come with a 5 year warranty. However, the tubes found in the microphones are not covered under warranty.
