Taylor Jason Mraz Signature Nylon String Acoustic Electric Guitar
Based on the Taylor NS72c, Mraz’s primary guitar on his most recent world tour, the JMSM features Indian rosewood back and sides and a Western red cedar top.
Drawing inspiration from the cosmos, a custom rosette design depicts the signs of the zodiac, all hand-inlaid in bubinga, Mexican cypress, and Hawaiian koa. As an ode to “mind, body, and soul,” the fretboard is inlaid with a circle/triangle design and Mraz’s mantra, “Be Love” (a design he also wears as a tattoo on his forearm).
A sloping Venetian cutaway and Taylor’s proprietary nylon-string pickup, the ES-N, are standard features, adding to the JMSM’s performance-ready design. After breaking into the mainstream in 2002 with hits including “Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” and 2005’s “Wordplay,” Mraz hit superstar status in 2009 with the success of the single “I’m Yours,” which holds the record as the longest running song in the Billboard “Hot 100” chart and earned two Grammy nominations.
