About the Taylor Expression System

Taylor spent several years researching acoustic amplification and recruited some of the industry's best minds, including Mr. Rupert Neve (inventor of the mixing console). They experimented and tested. And made discoveries. The result is an exceptionally-pure reproduction of your Taylor guitar's natural sound. Here's how it works.

A patented Dynamic String Sensor™ mounted in the neck measures string vibrations and converts them into an electronic signal. Two strategically-placed Dynamic Body Sensors™ capture vibrations in the top of the guitar. All three signals are transferred to the preamp, which was designed by Mr. Neve.

Tone controls allow the player to adjust volume, bass, and treble. When set flat, the tone controls add no color and produce the "purest", natural sound. Or, add bass or treble (or subtract) to adjust for the room or personal tastes. The balanced, low-impedance signal the Expression System produces can run direct into a mixer or PA in most situations, and is free of distortion at almost any volume.

The Expression System is a revolution in acoustic guitar amplification, and is available exclusively on Taylor guitars in 300 Series and above.
