The Taylor 416CE Acoustic Electric Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s forward shifted bracing with a relief rout. The Taylor 416EC also features Taylor’s Grand Symphony body style, which is a slightly enlarged version of the Grand Auditorium style. A wider lower bout and higher, wider waist enable the 416EC to produce a pronounced low-end response with a piano like quality.
The back and sides are constructed from Ovangkol, which possesses a similar aesthetic and tone as East Indian Rosewood. As a tonewood, Ovangkol produces a warm sound, but also possesses some of the brightness that other hardwoods like mahogany are known for. Sitka Spruce originates in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska.
The cutaway body design of the Taylor 416EC allows you to access the upper register notes for when you’re reaching for a little extra in your soloing. You will love the ease and playability of the fast, thin profile of the mahogany neck and 20 fret ebony fingerboard.
When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 416EC features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T™, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 416EC is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Hardshell case is included.
