Taylor 214E-G Grand Auditorium Acoustic Electric Guitar with Gig Bag
The Taylor 214E Acoustic Guitar boasts a bookmatched Sitka Spruce soundboard with Taylor’s “X” bracing. Sitka Spruce grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for soundboards, but for internal bracing, as well. Sitka produces a slightly brighter tone than does Engelmann. The Taylor 214E also features their Grand Auditorium body style, which is a slightly smaller body that is similar to the classic dreadnought shape of the 210 model, yet delivers that characteristic big dreadnought tone. The back and sides are constructed from Indian Rosewood. The slim taper neck is carved from Sapele, which is denser and harder than mahogany. You will love the ease and playability of the fast, thin profile of this neck and 20 fret ebony fingerboard.
When it’s time to plug in and hit the stage, the Taylor 214E features the Expression System Transducer, or ES-T™, is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. The ES-T has an onboard preamp and features a custom-voiced EQ with a simplified volume, bass, and treble control layout. The system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator. The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. The Taylor 214E is equally at home on stage, in studio, or the front porch. A Deluxe Taylor Gig Bag is included.
