great! I travel with it, it;s kind of hard. but it works! (Maybe It's hard to travel because it's rwally not meant for traveling!)

I bought these drums after looking at many others. My primary problem was I needed a small kit with a big sound. Many small kits I looked at were either super pricy, or toys.This kit was neither. It was priced right, and sounded great after replacing the tom heads with remo heads for about $40.00.
The throne that comes with it is for a child,or very light person. I weigh about 200 lbs. and it laughed at me when I tried to keep it at the right height, however I fixed this by placing an 8 inch bathroom sink drain pipe over the seat pipe between the seat and support joint for about three dollars.
The cymbals are basic start up cymbals, and should be replaced immediately. I added sabian cymbals to this set, and after adding cymbals, new heads,sticks,and having the store personel set up this kit, it cost me $[...].
The sound I now get with this small set is almost too good to be true. I had a larger more expensive all maple set that did not sound as good as this set.
If you are short on space, and follow my upgrade recommendations this is the set to get.

"This was my first drum set when I started playing last year. This is by far the best drum set you will find in the $350-$450 range, guarenteed. I was pretty skeptical after hearing from some fellow drummers that cheap drum sets don't last. This little set proved them wrong. I still have it at home and use it for practicing. I replaced the batter tom heads with Evans Hydraulics and the resonant side with Evans Genera G1s. On the bass drum I have an Evans EQ3 and on the resonant side an Evan EQ4. The snare batter side is an Evans ST Dry with a Hazy 300 on the bottom. This is a very good set up for the heads, great sounding. I have Paiste Signature Heavy Hi Hats, and a few other signature crashes/rides/splashes. I would reccomend this drum set for everyone - from the beginner, to the practicing pro."

"this set is great. Ilove the sound that it has, and at the price it is perfect for anyone, no matter begginer or pro. The only minor thing is that the cymbals do dent after a while. But this set is awsome."

I keep one set up in my studio for my younger students. Sometimes they feel overwhelmed on a regular kit. The feel much more comfortable on the Stagestar.

"Ok, I'm a girl that drums.....who cares? I play the snare drum in our schools drumline, and I'm really good. I wanted to start learning how to play the drumset so I bought the Tama Stagestar 5 Piece drumset. I bought it because It's only $[...], and it comes with all hardware and cymbals. The cymbals aren't that good though. You can wear them out in like...a month if you're really good at the drums like my friends boyfriend. He's a backstage drummer. I myself bought Zyldjian cymbals because I wore mine out when I was recieving drumming lessons. But that's just me...I like to be loud. BUY IT IT'S CHEAP...AND IT'S MADE BY TAMA!!!!!!!!!"

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT ABOUT THE DRUM SET. IT'S THE RIGHT HEIGHT FOR ANYBODY. IT DOESN'T MATTER WEATHER YOU'RE A BEGINNER OR A PRO. BUT THE ONLY THING IS THE CYMBALS. THERE NOT AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO BUY NEW CYMBALS. THE FIRST TIME I HITTED IT MADE A LITTLE DENT. BESIDES THAT IT ROCKS!
