The TAMA ‘SLP’ Vintage Steel 5-1/2”x14” Snare Drum steel shell's powerful projection, plus the Sound Arc Hoops add sustain, wider tuning range and a fuller frequency response. This drum sounds great tuned low or high. By using the Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snares, this drum generates a rich and dry response, reminiscent of many vintage drums.

The nickel-plated steel shell drum is the beaded design with a round bead around its center, a design element found in several classic snare drums but sold at much higher prices than this excellent snare drum. The bead stiffens and strengthens the shell and the bead internally disperses the sound waves, adding to the shells great response.

The nickel-plated shell and chrome-plated hardware gives this drum a great appearance and it will look good behind any drum set of any other finish. There are ten dual lugs of the vintage style tube lugs, made of brass but chrome-plated. These dual tube lugs have all together, only a very small area of contact with the shell, which helps improve the resonance of the drum even further.
