The Sterling AX40 is based on the iconic design of the Music Man Axis. This hard rockin’ machine starts with a basswood body and a highly figured, quilted maple top. The AX40 is equipped with a pair of powerful Sterling Alnico V humbucking pickups that deliver the hard rock approved tone you’re looking for; plus a 3-way switch allows for maximum tonal versatility. The maple neck features a rugged 5 bolt construction, and is topped off with 22 high profile medium jumbo frets. A unique asymmetrical neck profile offers the comfort of a fast playing neck, yet enough mass to yield good tone.
The Sterling by Music Man AX40 The Sterling AX40 has a Sterling double-locking tremolo bridge, which is mounted on top of the body for a stable platform to rest your picking hand without upsetting the pitch at unwanted times. The easy to use tremolo has fine tuners, and an adjustable arm for loose or tight arm tension. The locking nut is matched to the finger board radius to maximize tuning stability and will withstand even the most aggressive metal dive bomb soloing. Finally, the AX40 comes in a protective Sterling Gig Bag.
