The Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass TB vibe is the classic ’70s era “Tele Bass” design, complete with thumping low-end tone from the Fender®-designed large humbucking pickup. Other features include a dual brass-saddle bridge (string-through design) and gorgeous sunburst finish over ash veneers on the top and back of the instrument. Players from beginner to intermediate and beyond have done it for years—whether installing hotter pickups, alternate pickguards, or just plain personalizing their instruments with fancy paint jobs, modified means adding new twists to a familiar design. I have had 2 of these. I hot rodded both of them and sold them for 350-375. the pickup is sonic goodness, (if you like the vintage whoomp tone) Yes it growls... Very little noise. Light, sustain, (better than my usa p deluxe).
Ok ! Tele basses with this pickup are any where from 1300 - 30,000 dollars. Hmmmm !!! mortgage, or airstreem... take one of these put new tuning machines and good electronic wiring. hey!!! you got a players telebass for about 420.00. if the neck is not to your liking order a tele neck from any of the licensed replacment manufacturers. or take a sting bass neck and do it up with a slim jazz-tele neck. OHHHHHH yeah !!!
