That was me. The Brand Snob. My first bass was a Fender Precision and it's been Jazz/Precision since then. I played a gig with a guy with a Squier Strat but couldn't see the headstock from where I stood. Solid screamer with excellent sound. I then saw the Squier logo and right then, my attitude changed. So, recently when I contemplated the fretless journey, I went on the Sam Ash website and guess what? I took delivery today and not only is she beautiful, she sounds tremendous and feels great. The Ebanol fingerboard will take some getting used to and I can see why Squier went with it. Sounds and feels much better than the Fender Fretless Jazz I've been borrowing. This bass is going in the studio with me and on the road. Right next to my Marcus Miller Fender Signature Jazz. Standing together, the color of the Squier joins nicely in appearance with the Marcus Miller. I'm a proud owner and certified Reformed Brand Snob!!

Bought this bass at Sam Ash off of the display. Had a slight buzz on the strings but after having the instore tech adjust the truss rod it is great. I did replace the stock strings with some D'Addario chrome flatwounds and love the sound I get. It's very versatile tone wise which is fantastic because the group I'm in plays everything from bluegrass, country, old rock and gospel. The only thing that I found kind of bad is that the stock round wound strings had a tendency to etch the ebanol finger board. You don't have any of that problem with the flatwounds. Great bass for the money and better than alot of them that go for a higher price.

I just got this bass 2 days ago. as i am typing this, this is the first time ive put this bass down for 48 hours. great bass and it is extremeley cheap price. i also own a Fender American Vintage '57 P-bass. and i just relized that why should i spend thousands of dollars on a fender when squier is even better and for only three hundered dollars. PEOPLE, SQUIER IS RIPPING YOU OFF IN A POSITIVE WAY. Buy this bass. Its better then Fenders. Its fretlessness is beast. dont question buy!

I'm a novice bass player and got this as a gift. I had been playing an old clunky hand me down bass to jam with. I am new to playing the bass (about 5 or 6 months) and the difference between the old and new is unbelievable.

The only gripe I have is the frett board feels like plastic, but that is just the way it is coated.

The bass is light, the sound is fantastic and it looks phenomenal sitting by itself. I was intimidated by the frettless aspect but once I started playing it was like nothing changed. It very easy for pressing down the notes between frets and the different tones of the bass allow you to find the perfect sound. I would recommend this to anyone that plays the bass as it is a wonderfully crafted instrument

the tone is unbelievable for a bass in this price range. I bought it to play around with and instantly fell in love with it!!! You'll NEVER get more bang for the buck.

I picked this up for my nephew who really wants to try and go fretless. I gave it a try myself and I was really taken back by the quality of this squire. It gives off a really good tone and produces a nice growl for an affordable fretless bass. The only problem I had was the ebanol fingerboard was a little to slick. Other than that I had a good time playing this fun and affordable bass.

Its a really good bass for jazz and stuff. A lot harder to play metal on this bass because its fretless but still amazing bass. I play for a rock band with this and its alright im getting a new one soon but again i play in my school band with this its fine, good for practing,good for jazz gigs and recordings. Overall good bass especially for the price.

This is a great bass for the price. Its a little hard to get used to the fact that any movement of the finger will change the sound but thats also good because it gives u infinately more tones. You can move up and down the fingerboard much easier with out the frets as Jaco Pastorius once said "the frets are like speed bumps". I can use this bass for anything from Jazz To heavy Metal to Classical.

Mine came with some neck issues but after adjusting the truss rod, I got it straightened and illiminated the sporadic neck buzz. Also the first inline control pot is very scratchy & will need to be replaced on mine. Over all, it now plays and sounds pretty good. I got mine for [$] which is about all I'd pay for the condition mine came in. Not a bad fretless bass with all that said.
