This is my second Squire guitar (3 Fenders in past). I buy them and use them for playing jobs and teaching. No problem with them. After a little adjusting and setting up the way I like it to play- its great! The price is the best deal!

I bought this exact guitar about 4 years ago, and have since sold said guitar. The guitar had that awesome tele feel but lacked quality control and craftsmanship. The guitar was constantly having tuning problems. The pickups were very tinny and to put it frankly "horrible" sounding. There are a lot of guitars out there in the same price range that are miles better.

When I bought this guitar right off the bat, I liked everything about this guitar and loved the fact that this tele was built as an HH style body and not an SS like most teles, but as i played as is (with the action adjusted) for a few of my gigs, i felt to make this guitar a great guitar there was modifying to be done.

I changed the nut to graphite to help out the tone quality of the guitar. Then I completely changed the electronics and put in the Hot Rodded Hum-Bucker Set From Seymour Duncan (Jazz (2n-a) and Jb(N-4)) and coil split them both. What i ended up with was a really versatile guitar under $400. I felt like this guitar was finally unleashed, and sounded better than most Fender guitars that I've played on. The sound I received, in comparison to the original picks ups, was a warmer and fuller bodied sound. The possibilities also became endless with tone as i was able to get really nice bite or get a smooth sounding in clean, where if you add distortion I received a heavenly crunch sound.

So the bottom line of this review is that if you buy this guitar, some improvements are possible, but that is totally up to you. You can leave the guitar as is with action adjustments, or go all out with hardware overhaul, like me. Either way your getting an awesome guitar for your money.

I got this for X-mas from my wife.As soon as I opened the box,I immediately went to work on it.I had to tighten all the hardware,lower the bridge saddles,file down one side of the nut,and intonate it.Once all of that was done,along with a string change,I discovered that I got a guitar that has a really good tone to it,and seems to be very durable.I did cheat though and put a [...] waterslide decal on the headstock,along with putting on a [...] neck plate also.I probably will be changing the volume and tone pots very soon though,because those are the only weak points that I could find on this guitar.Now,I have never been a Squier fan,per-se,but this guitar is slowly making me reconsider getting the model with the [...]designed P-90's to go along with this one.My only other gripe is,how came this doesn't come in a sunburst color?

I am a beginner guitarist and I find it very easy to learn on. It has a great sound without having a huge price tag. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

i got this axe about a year ago, my brother had a original 72 tele custom that i had for a few years(until he wanted it back)so when i saw this guitar for under [...] i had to try it,i had to do some modifications off the bat, i changed the tuners to grovers, ordered an original fender humbucker for around [...] bucks,(the stock pickups are alot smaller than the original fenders, so i had to route out a little) i also ordered a fender waterslide decal, and lightly sanded off the squire logo and put on the fender,(i know its cheating but whatever), got a fender neck plate, all in all its a good guitar, i would not trust it as far as a main guitar with no back up(it is a squire) but i like the way it feels and plays,., im mainly a les paul guy, but i like the diverse tone of this puppy,.,, like i said for under [...] , plus another hundred in mods. you cant go wrong!!!!!!!!

"I have several vintage tele.s and wanted to retro one a 60 butterscotch, into a knockoff of my man ""Kieth Richard "", and his famous 5 string Tele Custom he almost uses exclisively, but didnt want to have the Black body all Tele Customs come with!! So I opted for a ""Squier "" model. Only to canabilize the neccessary hardware, to retro my FDender Tele into a custom, as the total price of the Squier was less than the parts Ids had to Beg out of the Damn Fender Custom shop if I could ever obtain them? well after a few nites loving labors I now have a beautiful one of a kind ""Butterscotch Tele, Custom which has turned a few heads evry time I remove it from the case I did tryout the Squier before taking the parts I needed for my project, and I Must say I was Very surprised w/ rthe quality fir the price The neck is reminisent of a telephone pole, but the sound and playability is More than a begginner could ask for its a ghood looking axe to learn opn till you can afford better!"
