The rich, smooth tones of the OMEGA valve microphone will be music to your ears. The highly sensitive 1.07" capsule is isolated away from the body of the microphone, in the large basket, ensuring every subtle nuance is captured. Housed in the tall, cylindrical body, is the industry-standard ECC83/12AX7 vacuum tube, which gives the OMEGA its classic tone.
OMEGA’s cardioid polar pattern delivers stunning results when recording vocals, where its proximity characteristics can be used to maximum effect. The rich, warm low frequencies blend together with sparkling highs to produce an extremely satisfying result, reminiscent of the quality only experienced from microphones costing many times more.
Like HELIOS, the OMEGA has it’s own special SPS-2 power supply unit, which has both a low-cut filter and a -10dB pad. For critical vocal applications, OMEGA deserves a place in any recording set-up. The microphone is supplied in a luxury wooden box and, together with its own ‘spider’ shockmount, power supply and cables, it is protected by a high quality aluminium flight case.
