"Best rough-and-tumble mic out there, bar-NONE"

"First of all, if you're not familiar with the SM58, when they say world standard, they're not exaggerating. I've played plenty of live shows and this mic REALLY stands out compared to three or four other Peaveys I tried, which were about worthless. Any other mic isn't worth your time if you only want to spend about $100, which this mic is WELL WORTH. I'd have bought it at the list price. Second of all, who uses SM58s? Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Jonathan Davis and Head of Korn, Chad Gray of Mudvayne, Coby Dick of Papa Roach, Aaron Lewis of Staind, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian of System of a Down, Scooter Ward of Cold, and countless other rock, pop, and punk bands since the mic was first introduced years and years ago. Anyway, I've thrown mine across the room, dropped it on concrete, beaten it against my head, everything and although the screen has a few dents, the mic works PERFECTLY. The range is great for really melodic, soaring opera-like full lung singing and the durability makes it perfect for screamers and yellers. If you're just starting off with singing, whether it be anything from pop, opera, punk, or alterna-metal like myself, there is absolutely NO MIC better suited for you than the SM58. I wouldn't trade it for any other."
