I've had this mic for about 6-7 years now, and it still works great. I use this to record with my band, and my kick always sounds right. I usually listen to our recordings on a subwoofer-heavy system, and mic's frequency response feels nice and punchy. The only con is the phantom power requirement, which just comes with being a condenser mic. If the sound guy forgets to turn on the phantom power, you have no kick--which can be heartbreaking if you don't find out until after you already laid down a track.

This mic gave me the sound I was looking for. That sound is a solid attack with the low thump that is usually missing from most mics and live performances. We do mostly live shows and this mic delivers great sound at any level.
