I am not a professional. I have always used Pro-Arte Pro Normal on my classical guitar. I tried Savarez 520R and am amazed at the difference. I am sure others can think of all manner of criticisms, but all I can say is that everything I play sounds better and is easier to play with Savarez. I don't care about the price. The change and benefits are simply remarkable. It is hard for novices to find good advice online becuase all the advice is geared to experienced players. My advice to novices like me, try the Savarez strings. You'll grow to love the feel of the strings and the sound.

I am a professional classical and flamenco guitarist - performer and teacher - forty years. I have played them all, and NOTHING sounds as good as Savarez strings. If you play them once, you will never use any other string. The basses do tend to wear out quickly at the frets, especially the fourth string (naturally). I have solved this by simply buying one extra fourth string with each set.
