I read all the other comments before purchasing this mic and immediately focused on the CONs, specifically NOISE at first. I had previously bought the Samson Q7 but walked into the store expecting to buy another brand of Mic as recommended by a Friend for a commercial recording for a major organization. The Salesperson at Sam Ash showed me an alternative with some unique benefits; With a 3 year warranty and a hard case, and some convenient and useful design, this seemed like a better buy. I took the Q7 home, plugged it in and it worked except for some warbling noises I could hear while recording. I tried the mic on several DAWs (Sony Vegas, Sony ACID, and Sound Forge) and still noisy. Others mentioned noise so at first I was a bit disappointed. I decided to return the Q7 and exchange it for a G-Track thinking that going with a USB Mic might fix the noise issue. So, I exchanged the Q7 for the G TRACK USB. I plugged in the G-Track and still had noise. Then I checked all my computer settings and realized that I had to disable some Mics (Control Panel-->Sound-->Recording tab). I forgot about this little quirk in the system. Once I disabled the unused Recording inputs and Set the USB Audio Codec as the Default device, BINGO! I now have a new favorite mic in the G TRACK! So, as you read the other comments regarding noise, maybe this little tip might help you if in fact you experience warbling or noise. I finished my recording and it came out clear as a bell! This G TRACK has some cool features such as; headphone input and zero latency so you can hear things as you record them in "real-time", the Volume, Instrument, and Mic level controls push in/push out so you can "set it & forget it" or re-adjust if you need more, You have several Input and Direct Monitor Settings so you can manage the sound. Easy-to-use mic with all kinds of easy-access right there on the mic itself! USB plugs directly into your computer. And, the give you a bunch of extra cables for any unique set-ups (plug in keyboard, send output to mixer, etc.) It is heavy and bulky, but I like that! Solid construction. Well-conceived mic! And, you get SONAR LE if you need a DAW. I plan to buy another soon!

I am a solo musician. I have a amateur home studio I record in myself. Knowing that I didn't have an interface and needed a microphone, I was stuck in a tight spot. But of all the microphones in the world, this was JUST the thing I needed! I get zero latency from the direct monitoring on the headphone output. And the ability to record guitar and vocals simultaneously is absolutely convenient. This product was the one thing I needed without having to go out purchasing an interface and cables and all that when I could just go buy this with half the money. The only downside of this is the excessive white noise. Blasting the mic volume all the way isn't such a great idea. Normally I would have to keep it at half whenever I mike up my amp or when I'm singing. All in all, this is a great, useful, and creative piece of work Samson created!

When I ordered this product from this website, they didn't even send me the right program to go with it. It was supposed to come with a program called Cakewalk but it came with some other program that I couldn't even use with the microphone. Also, the mic stand didn't even work!! On top of that I couldn't send it back. Just buy another type of mic in stores.

I bought this mic to replace a Samson CL7 I was using. This mic is great since I'm able to plug the headphone directly into the mic. This helps me since I'm running the mic to the bathroom. lol. I have read reviews with people having issues regarding the mic only recording on the left side. I tested the mic on a pc and on the mac and came up with remedies. When using sonar on the pc, I had to use "left sound" instead of "studio" on every single recorded track and on the mac (garageband 08) I had to mono 1 for this to work. The sound does not record mono though. go figure??? Other than the time it took to figure this out, the mic has been awesome

This Mic rocks with the best of them. I've been using it for over a week and I've had a better experience with this mic than I have with the Sure line or the other USB mics I've tried in the past. Its so versitle and sounds like the best EM58 in studio recording that you can get. When using Sure in the pc recording world, it doesn't translate as well as it does to tape, but Samson made something that ties into your recording sofware very well. It comes with Cakewalk LE, but what I loved: Plug and Play, no drivers to load, it uses the USB Audio driver that it finds when you plug it in. Great product, worth every penny
