I was looking for an inexpensive mic set to be used for live performances for a hobby band. I have used Shure and AKG mics before and were pleased but not as pleased as I was this weekend with the sound quality of these Sampson mics. I do question the plastic rim clips [...] because they do break.Overall, I am very glad I purchased this set. Excellent sound, clarity, with very little to no tuning. Highly recommended for the price.

I have used a number of different brands of mics for drums. These are absolutly outstanding. They are already tuned for what frequencies they should pick up unlike alot of other brands. With a little more eqing on the board these guys sound as good if not better better than some of the higher end drum mics. All plastic mic clips break, so don't hold that against them. I use 2 SM57s for the cymbols but i'm sure the 7 piece has good top mics.

Once I plugged them in, I was really happy with the sound of all of them before I even started dialing them in. If the mounting brackets last, then it'll definately be a great bargain.
