These hi-hat cymbals sound very tinny, especially when closed tight. There is no "chic" sound when they are played. I would recommend something different.

these are great to start with. i like them alot. im surpised at how good the b8 's are. i recommned starting with these. i even recommend them to highly expierienced drummers

I would have to say that this Hi-Hat doesn't have a good sound to it. It is so difficult to tune and doesn't have a chick like you hear from pros today. It just sound like two pot lids whether you close it or play with stick. I mean to say they have resonant and no chick. But they would sound good in stores so don't be fooled. I meet other drummers that played this Hi-Hat and they didn't liked it as well!!

I have never heard or played on other lower-end hi-hats before, so I suppose I have no authority to deny that they are a great value.

However, I can say that these were my first hi-hats (so, no frame of reference then) and I somewhat disliked them from the start. They sound good played loose, and have a good wash, but playing them closed is like banging on tin cans. (Good way to reduce the tin can effect is to tilt the bottom one upward a bit, but even then.) You can't really get a good stick chik from them closed, and you have to deal with the abrasive, ringing overtones. This isn't really a huge deal when you're playing with other people, because it gets lost in the mix, but when you're alone? Just awful.

I didn't realize exactly how much I disliked them until I got sabian AAs, or how nice it is not to hear those abrasive overtones. However, since the general consensus is that they're the best hi-hats in their price range, who am I to argue? They may very well be.

I have been playing drums for about 10 years. I have a mid-quality kit and these are the best hi hats ive had. they sound great and i will keep them until they crack.

This Hi-hat is okay. The it looks it awesome, you have to agree on that. The sound is ok. Nothing bad at all though. At a cheap price, this is the perfect for beginners.

These hihats are terrible! I bought the pack of sabian B8's when I first bought my drums and I like every cymbal EXCEPT for the hihats. When closed they sound like someone got two tin cups and put them on a stand. They are not loud and the quality is terrible! Definitely get something different!

I had an ancient pair of Krut hi-hats my uncle gave me and they weren't good at all...
I went to my local music store and brought these cymbals. I've had them for about two years now and i love them. They have a great sound with a surprisingly low cost. I havent recorded anything with them yet but they have an outstanding live acoustic sound. I recommend this to anyone who loves to play drums.
