The Impedance Matching Transformer enables a Low-Z Microphone to be connected straight to a High-Z input. Like a guitar amp. XLR female on one end to 1/4" TRS plug on the other. This allows the use of any standard mic cable when the need arises to plug a microphone directly into a high impedance input. Very handy gig bag tool.
