There are 12 analog inputs (8 balanced TRS on the back and 4 XLR inputs with mic/instrument preamps on the front panel) along with 12 analog outputs (6 balanced TRS and 2 XLR which can be hooked up directly to your main studio monitors). There are also 2 headphone jacks on the front panel able to drive hi-impedance headphones to high volume. Two 8-channel ADAT I/Os allow you to expand the UFX by 16 channels. In addition, there is AES/EBU I/O as well as SPDIF providing you with the ultimate flexibility today’s digital studios demand.
Included with the RME UFX is TotalMix FX software that serves as a router and mixer of all the UFX channels. All the inputs and channels benefit from the built=in DSP, providing console-type features and effects along with signal processing technology. Effects per channel include 3-band parametric EQ, compressor, expander, MS processing and adjustable low-cut. There are also reverb and echo effects further increasing the value of this amazing package. All effects have the ability to run at 192 kHz.
