Propellerhead Reason 6.5 Upgrade
Note: this product is an UPGRADE for all previous registered owners of Reason only.
Reason is an integrated music recording and production studio with unlimited audio tracks, million-dollar mixing, and a massive collection of included sounds. Reason comes with all the instruments, effects, and mixing tools you need for writing, recording, remixing, and producing great-sounding tracks. With its generous sound bank and intuitive flow, Reason helps you along in the creative process. It is the music-making software that keeps you focused on the music and lets you finish that song.
Should you need even more creative options, Rack Extensions expands Reason and lets you add more instruments and effects, created by Propellerhead and third-party developers.
In Reason, the sequencer and instruments are designed by the same people. With its total integration, no configuration or connections are needed — they are part of the same package and all the parts work seamlessly with each other. You build your rack as you work on your song. Create instruments and effects and route them any way you want to. Add, delete, replace, and tweak. Your rack is what you want it to be.
Compatible With Everything
Although Reason is a self-contained program, it's no lone wolf in the studio world. Two key technologies make Reason a well adjusted and quite sociable citizen in the software studio. Mouse and computer keyboard may do the job most of the time, but when you want hands-on tactile control of your music making, Remote is there to save the day. With Remote technology, Reason comes with built-in support for all major controllers and keyboards available on the market. Knobs, faders, displays, and buttons are already set up for each Reason device. For instance, you can use one controller as your master keyboard and another for just the mixer. Remote is ready right out of the box. Nothing to configure, nothing to install. It just works.
Buttons, Knobs and Switches Galore
If it looks like a button, then it is a button. If you see a handle, it's for dragging. All knobs and switches function exactly as it would in it's real-world counterpart. All controls in Reason look and feel natural to work with and integrate with your favorite hardware controller. So, tweak and twist away until you are completely satisfied with your result. What you see is really what you get. Reason offers everything at face value. No hidden screens, sub-menus or windows to flip through. The sequencer collects all notes and automation for each track, clearly laid out and easy to work with.
Flip the rack over to access the backside with all the cables and connectors. Here you can manually route anything to anything (just like in a real studio). Or simply leave it to Reason to automatically connect all your instruments and effects (unlike a real studio). Each cable plugs into exactly two holes, just like real cables do. Only in Reason, you don't ever have to crawl around the backside to access them.
Introducing Rack Extensions
Reason 6.5 and Reason Essentials 1.5 feature the new Rack Extension powered versions of the world’s favorite music software.
Rack Extensions expands Reason and lets you add whatever your music needs — be it instruments or effects, from Propellerhead or others. Try it, buy it, and download it straight into your rack. There simply are no risky choices. Just everything your music needs today. And tomorrow.
What are Rack Extensions?
With Rack Extensions the Reason rack opens up to third party developers. This is not another plugin format — Rack Extensions are full Reason rack citizens, giving you the same great experience as any other Reason device. Load them in Combinators, route cables on the back, automate all parameters, and experiment with the safety of undo. Browse all Rack Extensions in the Propellerhead Shop and even download fully functional trial versions to load into your rack. Every Rack Extension you have purchased can be downloaded as many times as you need — for both Mac and Windows — and the latest version is never more than a click away.
Many musicians tend to think of music in terms like intro, verse, chorus, breakdown, buildup, and so on. With Reason Blocks mode, your sequencer does, too. Blocks lets you sequence your songs using a more pattern-based approach, with the segments of your song as individual building blocks to be laid out in your arrangement.
Want your music to sound less rigid, less programmed? Need your drums to move and groove as if played live by actual musicians? If you want your tracks to flow with that loose, yet tight feel, a regular shuffle control just doesn't cut it. That's why Propellerhead created the ReGroove mixer, Reason's own realtime groove management device. You can lock all your tracks together into one unified feel. Or you can apply different settings to up to 32 musical elements in your song, for ultimate control. Each of the groove channels feature controls for groove amount, slide, and shuffle, plus more detailed settings
Sure Reason looks cool, but how does it sound? Short answer: It sounds awesome! Okay, okay, lets elaborate:
Included with Reason is a huge sound bank full of inspiring instruments, synth patches, loops, and effects. Patches have been created by producers like Death Cab for Cutie's Jason McGerr, Bomb Squad's Hank Shocklee, Black Eyed Peas' Printz Board, DJ Lucky Date, Kill the Noise, and more.
All this and so easy to get started. Many devices have macro controls for ease of use. If you want, open them up and explore and tweak all the components within.
So, what are you waiting for? Upgrade now and let Reason 6.5 help inspire your musical visions without all the time you'd waste jumping through a million technical hoops!
Note: this product is an UPGRADE only and intended for all previous registered owners of Reason.
