i bought this unit for an in club system, mainly for the cheap price. i knew what i was getting myself into before i bought the sub. the peavy sub is paired with 2 JBL MRX500 passive top cabs, powered by an EV Q1212 amp with crossover. its good bass for the price, but seriously is no comparison to a more expensive sub cab.

"I have been playing music and doing karaoke/ djing for lots of years, so i have used and gone thru lots of equipment. I must say that the pv118's are the best sub-cabinets i have ever used! They absolutely pound, sound terrific, and were priced several hundred dollars lower than any brand that even compares! I really dont know how Peavey can sell these terrific subs at this low of a price, but i am glad that they do! If you want amazing bass action, at a 1/4 of the price of other brands, then you must buy the PV118's, they sound like a million bucks! Thanks Peavey!"
