Pearl’s Free Floating Snare Drums feature a patented system with no hardware attached to the 6 ply premium Maple shell. With nothing to encumber its ringing clarity, the shells are free to vibrate with unbridled response and true articulation. In the piccolo snare size, it will generate the loudest, brightest “gunshot” sounds and is also capable of excellent finesse and delicacy, with the warm, sweet tone and the full-bodied response of its premium maple, “free-floating” shell, which is finished “Natural”, with tough, deep clear polished lacquer over its natural appearance.
All Free-Floaters feature our SR-1000F Glide-Lock Strainer with locking snare tension knob and patented locking throw-off lever that will not loosen no matter how hard you play. The smooth, round stainless steel FT-35 lugs and PEARL Mastercast die-cast hoops make this drum easy to tune evenly and to hold the tuning, while handling hard playing that would make many other snare drums cringe!
