The Paiste Formula 602s have long been revered as some of the finest cymbals ever made. Known for their complex, silvery, breathy tones these cymbals worked their way into the hearts of such noted drummers as Joe Morello, Charlie Watts, Art Blakey, and Ndugu Chancler. When Paiste discontinued production of the 602s in the late 1980s drummers worldwide reacted with an utter sense of shock and disbelief. Over the last twenty somewhat years the 602s have become some of the most sought after cymbals on the market, and every time one cracked it was like witnessing the death of a Bald Eagle or Bengal Tiger. In more recent years players have been writing Paiste suggesting, even begging them to bring back the legendary line.
